Political thriller, huh? That exception to the rules would be a political minefield. From a lot of different angles. 1. There are other charities that ‘philanthropist’ Tony Stark supported. Charities that so more ‘good’ for the general public than the Avengers. People always need to eat and have shelter and be safe after all. TheAvengers do none of that. Why aren’t THEY exceptions. 2. How ‘dare’ Stark try to ‘latch’ onto The Great Captain America and leach good press from him. 3. America is a two political party system - no matter what the action is there will be someone In the other party willing to point out how it’s wrong. 4. Presumably the trouble SI is in is fairly common knowledge, and now this small privileged group is profiting while people are losing their jobs. 5. Then, of course, the conspiracies like, the government making exceptions like that just shows that TS was railroaded into jail so that the government could take his money and tech - everyone knows they been trying to take it for years. No doubt Sokovia is either their dupe or their getting something out of it. 6. Another conspiracy would be Parts of the Avengers doing the very same thing ( or SHIELD) after all we have that oh so convenient Russian spy. (Or Hydra through SHIELD) 7. If information about Hydra Wanda is released, then well ‘poor Captain America’ he’s either brainwashed or just too out of touch. He’s been taken in by Hydra before. And there’s that Russian spy too.
And with American news being what it is (a trash Fire sometimes) all of those could be true at the same time!
Thanks VWebb for your very detailed review! I will try to answer to all of your points without spoiling. 1) Making an exception for the Avengers suits the new Mr. President. And yes, I have totally messed up with the US's political schedule. But President Ellis wasn't fitting to the role. If you know the comics, you will recognize the new President I think. 2) Tony's worst mistake is to NOT follow blindly Steve like the others. How dare he? XD 3) Even if America is a two political party system, we can see since a few years how it's working. When something very awful is said about someone, the guy just has to say it's fake news. Everybody is fighting over the news but everything is staying the same... Which is depressing. If you have the opportunity to watch The social dilemma on Netflix, it's talking about that (but not only). And there will be opponents to what is happening to Tony. 4) It's exactly that. In fact, some powerful players are acting like Hyenas with SI. Including some people from the government but not only... 5) It's totally the point. Sokovia is using the situation, the US's President & the people behind him and, the Avengers too... Pepper and Rhodey will have to play carefully. 6) In the Avengers, the only one able to understand politics is Natasha. And she is seeing an opportunity. Steve is just a moron. Yes, I don't like him, and never had. Even in the comics where his character is not a dick, I was founding him too unidimensional. 7) Ahah, I am very happy you have reached this point. It will be a major point to solve for Pepper and Rhodey. You will discover it soon :) Thanks again for your review. It was a pleasure to read.
