You're welcome. Didn't read the book since eeeeeeeeeer some 25 years ago but i clearly remember that Treville was a gascon. If i remember correctly, d'Artagnan's father told him that as he (Treville) was a gascon too, he should help the boy and accepts him in the musketeer (from what i found, gascon helped each other). Real Treville (actually it was his father who bought the title when he bought a land) was a gascon too ! And Dumas wanted the idea of a big family of Gascon helping each other in Paris (real men inspiring Athos, Aramis and d'Artagnan were gascon, Aramis' one was a direct cousin of Treville in fact). ^^
