Ugh, the LILA topic. I knew it was coming, I really did, but I can't get why people think Lila actually has managed to turn everyone against Marinette. In the episode "Ladybug," none of Marinette's classmates believed she cheated, and were genuinely shocked Marinette was expelled. Even Alya, despite many, MANY, fics depicting her as Lila's attack dog was on Marinette's side. Even if they believe Lila's lies, which I headcanon is due to her having some innate, if undisciplined, talent for mental-based magic, all of Marinette's classmates trust in her and believe she was being framed. Even at its most strained, Marinette's classmates just believe Marinette is jealous and unintentionally insensitive, not that she is being actively cruel to an innocent Lila, and they certainly don't hate her for it; I get how frustrating it is outside looking in at how Lila is stringing along the class, but the situation and relationship statuses within are NOTHING like how the majority of fanfic writers are trying to depict to satisfy their personal salt. BUT! I am not gonna abandon this fic because of a minor potential implication that Lila has driven away all of Marinette's friends and her social life is destroyed. I will wait, and I will see.
So Lila hasn't driven away Marinette's friends. The divide between Marinette and her friends won't be Lila, but instead Marinette's secrets. Don't get me wrong I think Marinette's friends are great especially Alya, (Gang of Secrets proves that, which I loved). This is going to be more like a 'Marinette pushes her friends away (without really realizing) who end up going to Lila, and she takes advantage.' Marinette won't hate her friend's and her friends won't hate her, instead it'll be like they drifted apart. I hope that kinda of explains what I'm going at.
Oh!! That makes sense, thanks for clearing that up! Lila's antics are kind of a hot button issue for me, especially at how many people blow it way out of proportion to satisfy their salt.
