      It was SO FUN to do this fic for you ♡. At the same time I kept thinking the whole way of what we've talked about. This DIDN'T just fly off the keyboard, it needed some good ol fashioned work, and somehow that makes it feel earned like you've said. It also (as u see) is clearly NOT about MakoRin going for the gold as u wanted - and here u get a damn SONGFIC instead, which u don't even particularly like! *maniac sarcastic laughter* But as we go on I hope you'll agree this song just screams MakoRin for all kinds of reasons. And this is also a nod to your lovely use of song in your lovely fics, not to mention all the stellar music recs you've provided :D

      I knew "intellectually" why MakoRin is your eternal Free jam from your astute explanations. But just like ya gotta speak a language to really learn it, I think I really get MakoRin now in my "gut" too (.....ew lol). It's the old "do opposites REALLY attract?" Q, I think, which fascinates me. And even tho there sure are plenty of differences in "temperament" I guess you'd say, these guys really MESH and complement each other. There isn't the combustion of SouRin or RinHaru. There isn't the "forced tranquility" of Makoharu. (Can't speak to soumako enough lol). And while all those have things going for them, this sort of "meeting of the minds" is such a satisfying element of MakoRin. (No wonder YOU love em :))
