Comment on The Lion and The Lotus

  1. Wow, a new comment! Thank you, Lesionnaire! 🥰 I hope you enjoy the fic!

I am in a bunch of writing groups on Reddit and Discord. 😃 Some of the fandom blind readers have actually stayed with me and gone on to become beta readers, so I update that document for them. 💖

You’re right though, the mileage does vary, especially when 3 houses of 24 students start featuring after orientation, or you forget characters who were introduced well enough for fandom-blind readers in chapter 2 — but then they don’t show up again until chapter 15 and get forgotten. 😅 Balancing the fandom-blind nature of this story has really helped me understand how to set up — and how not to set up — original fantasy worlds, ensemble casts, and managing viewpoints across the board. 😃

So glad to have you here! Thanks so much for commenting! It cheered me up on a day of meetings!

    1. Oh, I see! I thought maybe this was posted on an AA reddit/etc since you mentioned the trials as inspo, but that makes sense. I see your fellow writers enjoyed it, which I think is deserved.

(for what it’s worth, I’d forgotten who Randolph was, so this was almost a fresh experience 😂)
