Comment on Cross Your Heart (And Hope To Die)

  1. I LOVE this concept holy shit. 255 days?! That is a LONG time to be stuck in a novel and dear god I would HATE being stuck in a zombie novel. Cuz it's not even the zombies you have to worry about! They're easy enough to avoid if you play your cards right. It's the other god damn crazy ass survivors who's sense of morality suddenly vanishes and it's kill or be killed, or sometimes even consumed (seriously Walking Dead has ruined me). Zombies may be the "monsters" but it's humanity that's truly monstrous so I am NOT looking forward to whatever plot twists Poe put in that novel. It was amusing and simultaneously terrifying seeing Ranpo so serious. Like it just means shit is going in a BAD WAY with this new ability user. Ranpo is kinda scary when he's pissed. Could no one just calmly explain to Chuuya the situation? Like he WOULD have listened to Mori's direct orders. Why the subterfuge? He is going to be SO PISSED being trapped in a novel again. Weirdly enough I feel like Ranpo's warning about not getting caught up in trying to "save" anyone in the novel was a reminder for Chuuya, not Dazai. I can totally see Chuuya trying to save others in the midst of a zombie apocalypse. Ah seriously so excited! This is such a fun spin on a Zombie AU!

    1. I...don't actually remember where that number came from (my ass I expect) but I wanted enough time for the world to truly devolve into chaos after the outbreak, so I get to work with the concept of dealing with survivor groups and how the human mindset potentially changes when faced with such a situation as well as the fun of chompy mindless zombies.

Honestly, TWD ruined me as well x'D and to top it all, I haven't actually ever seen any of the most commonly praised zombie movies sooooo I'm kind of working at a disadvantage out of my own head.

I love serious Ranpo, like, I feel like the rest of the ADA persuaded him to deal with Dazai (probably in exchange for copious amounts of snacks) because everyone knew if Kunikida was left to do it, Dazai would poke fun and talk rings around him until the poor man actually exploded...and if they left Atsushi to do it he'd somehow end up in the novel with Chuuya instead of Dazai ^^' Dazai respects Ranpo, so even though they can have some 'banter', he'll still take what Ranpo has to say seriously and, in the end, agree to what everyone else has already decided is going to happen.

Nobody thinks of poor Chuuya. Ranpo decides subterfuge is better than the direct approach, probably because Chuuya has shown himself to be somewhat volatile, especially where Dazai is concerned!

It's amusing, that Chuuya is far more likely to try and save people than Dazai, considering Chuuya is still part of the Port Mafia and Dazai is supposed to be a good citizen these days, but I definitely agree, I think Chuuya definitely needs that warning more than Dazai...

Ahhhhh but thank you so much for the comment, you have no idea how much it made me smile when I read it <3 I hope I can do the genre justice, as well as the characters. It's going to be a fun (and horribly long) ride regardless. =^.^=
