I'm so happy that we got a bit of Ninej in this fic--I have a real soft spot for them and definitely like to headcanon Inej exploring her comfort levels when it comes to sex with Nina, and learning that sex is something she can really enjoy, as a no-strings-attached relationship with a friend she trusts. “It was a glorious, silly, drunken romp and I regret nothing,” just sums it up so well!
Again, I have no articulate thoughts because this chapter was so gloriously romantic and beautiful it made my brain melt. I know there may be some bumps on the road but they are going to keep healing and growing and I am so proud of them I could cry.
“Romance is the wrong word,” he countered, his voice grinding roughly in his throat. “If my thoughts right now were a book, the Merchant Council would ban its publication on moral grounds.” Holy SHIT Kaz.
Inej narrowed her eyes, then gently placed a hand on his chest. He wondered if she could feel his heart beating through his shirt. She pressed firmly, pushing him down onto the bed, her eyes never leaving his. Then she swung a leg over his hips to sit astride him. He forgot how to breathe. “Broken or not, you are exactly what I need, Kaz Brekker, and I am going to make you mine .” "He forgot how to breathe" YEAH ME TOO
While I can't see Ninej as a long term thing, I felt like sex with Nina was a necessary step for her-- she needs someone to teach her that it can just be fun and loving and let her explore her needs without the stress of working around Kaz's triggers and her own at the same time.
I am especially proud of the banning its publication on moral grounds line so your appreciating it made me extra happy!
