            When the story revealed that the Makuta were a species/organization rather than just one individual, Greg figured "The Makuta" could use a name to differentiate him from the rest of them and went with Teridax. This proved somewhat unpopular with the fanbase which is why many just still call him Makuta, or The Makuta of Metru Nui

              In fairness, at first many people were clamoring to learn his real name. Then many of those exact same people flipped out when it was revealed.

                Yeah, you really gotta feel sorry for the guy when you look at it that way. Personally, I would've been fine if his name never got revealed, but I don't HATE the name Teridax, per se. I just think that Makuta is a much cooler villain name, and that the species name was something else
