Comment on Sister Appreciation Club

  1. Roon is a menace, no doubt. But we’re kinda the reason she’s like this?
Hear me out: out of all of the PR ships, Roon gets the very dubious honor of being a ship that literally never existed-she is, in fact, fantasy, unlike most of the other PR ships that at least existed in blueprints. We literally take this ship that is a blank slate for all intents and purposes, and tell her, “Hey, you see those ships over there? Fucking kill them.”
Roon literally lives for two things: you and combat, because that’s what she was introduced to. She has no sister ships to share the burden, she doesn’t have any history behind her like the other ships-it’s like taking an amnesiac and framing her mindset so that the only constants in her life are you and killing. You create the monster, pretty much.
And it’s not like her entire personality is based on “blood, death, and you”. Her ü skin gets along well with Taihou and clearly shows concern for her, she greets returning commission teams with a hug, and unlike other ships, she doesn’t get any EX lines to indicate a direct change to her personality- so for all intents and purposes, despite her fixation on you, she doesn’t just drop everything and go stabby stabby against all of the ship girls.
Does she show yangire personality traits? Yes, very worryingly so.
Is she at fault for this? In my opinion, no.

    1. A wise observation of Roon's character~

      1. Roon is one of my favorite ships, hands down, both as a Heavy Cruiser and as a character. She’s a monster, but she’s a monster that we created and molded, unlike the stalker Taihou or the batshit Akagi who are fucking insane from the get-go.
And while I’m on the subject, MultiverseKing seems to forget that Roon, for all of her worrying traits, still cares for everyone else. She’s just in a perpetual combat high… like 110% of the time.
Still better than Akagi, who fucking threatens to chop you into a thousand pieces.
