Comment on The Phoenix Never Dies

  1. oh man i wish i could leave extra kudos on this (and the other stories in this series) every time i reread it. it must be at least 30 times just for this piece in the past like 3 days lol. theres too much greatness to rlly nail done any one thing thats amazing, the whole thing is just *squeels*.

i love that we get to see slade's pov in this one, not that i didnt love apollo's or jason's, there's just smth delicious about slade and seeing his internal war between being slade and being apollo's gem. also love seeing another opinion of what type of master apollo is and how the general opinion compares to that.

cant wait to see what else comes and will def reread over and over in the mean time!!!!!

    2. Thank you! So happy to hear that you're loving the series so much as to merit rereads. That's an author true jam.

I'm really enjoying learning about this world more through Slade's eyes, because he sees things from a different perspective and his struggle with accepting his position as a gem after being a shield for so long is interesting to explore. I think Apollo allows himself to be much more harsher with Slade than he does with Midnighter and Jason, partly because he knows Slade can take it and partly because Slade struggles much more with sexual submission than the other two do, so it takes that bit extra effort for Apollo to get him to submit.
