    This is wonderful!!!! So glad I found time to read it. Love how Drew and Ash's weird friendship is progressing. Poor Drew just needs a hug, I feel for him, and I love how Ash is actually pretty observant here for a change while still having it feel in character. The dialogue between them is spot-on, and Drew and Pikachu becoming close is something I never knew I needed until now. Im not too familiar with the SM anime myself but I'm enjoying your changes to Ash's team and seeing what it would look like if it followed the games more closely, while also keeping things like Lana joking about Kyogre. The humor and puns are great, and the "respect" line was *chef's kiss*. Looking forward to reading more!

      Thanks so much, I’m glad to hear it!! I love writing their dynamic so much and I also love writing Drew going Through It, poor guy is so in his head about everything too. Don’t worry, he gets his much-needed hug eventually.

      It’s always really good to hear praise for how I write Ash because despite how much I’ve written him at this point, he still gives me trouble and I worry about doing him justice, so I really appreciate it!!

      I still haven’t watched SM either—I’m pretty sure my beta reader and I are going to watch it together in celebration once I finally finish this, we’ve talked about it! Basing things off the games and getting to put my own spin on it has been fun and I’m really looking forward to seeing what the anime did differently than I did.

      I was really hoping somebody would take notice of the “respect” line, good catch! I have a lot of fun putting in little things like that to see if anybody will notice.

      Thanks again for the comment, it’s very much appreciated!! This fic’s been a passion project of mine for about five years now, I’m eager to see it through! Haven’t updated in a bit mostly because Sicktember’s had me in a chokehold these past few months, but once I’m done with that I’ll be picking it right back up! :D
