   It was about time Gordon handed over the torch - and doing it in such a manner is I think the best end to his character arc. He got the final express run he deserved, and now he gets to... uh... run his own branchline like Edward? XD

   Nah, he'll probably do local trains and other slower duties.

      Also flyer trains. Those stop at the junctions to each branch line provided they aren’t closed I think.

         I think the NWR's version of a 'Flyer' train is the Limited, seeing as its the only other 'express' train mentioned. If Gordon wants that train, he's going to have to share!
