Comment on Holding Out for a…

  1. How does the Strong series fit in with the Hero series? I am a bit confused.

    1. I wrote a little disclaimer about the confusion of the two series at the start of Holding Out For a.... I actually wrote most of the first chapter of that story in 2005, long-hand in a notebook with the character of Mariah Gray. Then shoved it on a shelf and forgot about it. When COVID happened and I was home all the time I started watching SGA again and the first four chapters to Strong But Not Impervious came to me and I couldn't stop writing it. I used the same character name because I kind of associated Mariah with Stargate and why waste a good name. Then I found the notebook and the follow on story started to form in my head. I had almost completely written There Goes My... before I finished Holding Out for a.... The characters have the same names because I really liked it (used it in a Buffy story I wrote back in HS). I would think of the two series as AUs of each other. The two Mariahs are similar, but oh so very different at the same time. I hope I haven't confused you too much or more than you already were. Hope you keep reading.

      1. I enjoy the Mariah character. And I do understand the forgotten shelf syndrome. 10 or more years ago I developed a fascination with things made using popsicle sticks. I have several small slabs of laminated sticks and a few partially completed projects. One is a car with moving wheels the other is a biplane. Fun stuff to visit your own forgotten creativity.

        1. Well my forgotten shelf item has turned into a monster. I'm working on story eight right now, because the characters won't leave me alone. Your art projects sound fun.
