I am so glad you liked it, Lost!!! I really enjoy stretching and blending surreal horror like this, though this is pretty tame compared to most of the Just Out of Reach stuff, I think it ended up suiting Logan pretty well.
The symbolism was fun to write too! You're actually quite close with your interpretation, but it's actually the other way around. Each character that wears a tie is meant to represent a different side of Logan, and the one he kills is the one he's struggling with the most. Dream Logan doesn't fully understand what's going on, at least not on a surface level, but his dreams are reflecting his main inner struggles, as well as his fears.
The meta stuff is fun because I like the concept of Logan being far more aware of reality than the other sides. I am also always finding ways of writing in soft Virgil in, because I love him lol.
And if you ever decide to write horror that would so dope!!! I would read the hell outta that!!! You're the best, Lost <3
