Omg, I really loved this, the characterisations of Snape and Harry were just on point and from someone with PTSD, everything you wrote about how they felt and dealt with their trauma made so much sense! And they also read as being really in character. I also loved the overall mood of the story. I'm really curious about what happened in the last couple of weeks at the monastery to lead to Harry's change of attitude and make him finally feel somewhat at peace. But really, this whole story was just amazing! I've been getting into meditation and mindfulness recently and had been thinking about trying yoga too and this really makes me want to give it a try! Sorry for the somewhat incoherent rambling, mystery author, but I really wanted to let you know how much I liked this.
Thank you so much for such a thoughtful, generous comment!
I'm particularly happy and touched that you felt the PTSD and emotional journey bits worked for you. One beta reader got annoyed with Harry for "not just getting over it and doing something with his life"; I tried to argue that that's just the thing - that's what depression and grief can do to you. It takes time. You can't just "get over it". So I'm really glad this felt realistic to you.
My main worry when posting this story was that no one would want to read it because of the lack of external (rather than internal) development/action and the lack of smut. Thank you so much for giving it a try <3
As for yoga: do it! When you find a type of yoga and a teacher/studio that works for you, it can be great. Personally, I really like yin yoga. It's not quite "exercise" (sometimes, just like Harry, I've also thought it's just 'lying around on some blankets and pillows'), but it can be SO emotionally relaxing and nurturing.
