Rika is in what I consider my favorite 'kid age' to write, when they can speak articulately, know a lot, and sometimes pass as mature, while also being emotional, impulsive, and lacking no filter. The pride of a child at knowing something can be hilarious while also being cute.
I'm glad you caught Granny Natsuki, I liked the idea of doing a little homage; it's honestly long overdue. And since you know about inakas, you can probably visualize the kind of place it was! As you guessed, all will come out, and hopefully it made sense; having characters get from point A to point B is always one of the dicier parts of writing for me, and I always hope that feels realistic.
Regarding Tadame's job: you are correct. She is, specifically, a pediatric nurse, and she currently works in a local hospital. She took the longest for me to figure out professionally, but when I thought of this, it just made sense. She's very active and energetic, so a job when she's on her feet would appeal a lot. She's smart, and caring; strong in both body and mind, so she can do the physical work as well as handle the emotionally tougher sides of the job, and it's a very stable, in-demand job for a woman especially. I think Tadame has the stomach to handle working in pediatrics; she's good with kids, can handle blood, and is good under pressure. I actually strongly considered her being geriatric nurse; there's obviously a high demand for that in Japan especially, and I think she has the temperament to handle grumpy old people. However, I like her in pediatrics better.
I think that Aiko has very complex feelings about people paying for her, because she has been used before and she dislikes users, so the idea of being a user herself is tough. I think she's had a very frank discussion with Yuki and Machi about it and they would have listened and understood her concerns while wanting to make it abundantly clear she wasn't using them and that it genuinely makes them happy to spend on her, particularly for something involved with her safety. They wouldn't force money on her if she was truly uncomfortable, but she still feels weird about them paying.
Yuki and Kyo went through the roof when they found out about Mito; both of them were ready to hunt him down and kick his ass, regardless of how old they were and the fact a while had passed. Cooler heads stopped them and they did the more sensible thing: made sure he was blacklisted with every connection they had.
