Comment on Red Spider Lily

  1. Muzan being undercover and seeing him actually doing that probably would have also risen his competence. Seeing something like that especially would have helped show that he's actually busy doing other things and that's why he never prioritizes the Demon Slayer Corp himself and leaves them to all his other Demons. He's in his element, staying in the Shadows and moving the pieces at his leisure.

He may end up as bad as Douma was, but I imagine it would be short-lived. Mostly because he's not poisoned to hell and back during that. One poison, and he can clean it up.

Muzan being weirdly happy probably stays around for a while... before he promptly decides if he kills off all of his Demons or not. He did create them because he needed a Sunlight Immune Demon. Now that he doesn't... why should he have any more of his Kind around when he can be the only one? So yeah, he might not tell his Upper Moons.

The best case scenario for Muzan is them trusting him and not lifting a finger. The worst case, if no Demon Slayers are around, is him just not being welcome. That's about it. Ultimately, unless the threat is brought to him, the Kamados may be left alive. Because genuinely, I wouldn't be surprised if Muzan can figure out how to halt their regeneration and considerably lower their threat level (like what he did to the one he ripped his head off). If Tamayo's anything to go by, even ''foreign'' Demons may just fall to him regardless. Granted, it wouldn't be easy. But... something like that working on something not of his Cells raises his threat level by a lot more.

Kaburamaru probably lives for a longer while then. Because like, he's doing pretty fine by the end of the Story. Save for Iguro literally being dead, but still. He's doing fine, and even in this world, he'll be doing fine I think. Better than Tanjiro and Kanao at least.

Tengen was gonna retire anyway if an Upper Moon died, which still does. Granted, maybe he would join to help if the Final Battle was this close, but I imagine he was more imagining it would take many more years before Muzan was anywhere near to being killed. He wanted to settle down. Which says a lot actually, at how Nezuko conquering the Sun made Muzan act.

Nezuko really dreads it. It could make him a target in so many ways, especially Kanao's. And since there is literally no crush here (the many things that made it happen just don't happen here, so it's highly unlikely), it means her fascination with him may just be darker in origin. Though I think I actually already answered what the Upper Moons would think of a Demon King Tanjiro?

    1. That is true. Admittedly, we do see it with the Asakusa arc since Muzan's identity there seemed to be apart of the main influencers of a business and when we see both Female Muzan (who is clearly in a high position of power based on the clothing and the Demon King probably wouldn't shift into a Female form unless there was some advantage given what society was like to women during the time period and Muzan would not like being treated in such a way) and his child form directly being adopted into an influential family running a company with enough resources to try and make a medicine that could potentially cure a skin condition that stopped him from going into the sun. So while I think it could have been shown off better if Demon Slayer was given more time to expand its world, we actually do see Muzan primarily operating in the shadows and using whatever disguise he had to either potentially find the Blue Spider Lily or look into potential alternatives to conquering the sun.

That's possible and I can see it. Hell, Muzan may even somewhat compliment Shinobu's idea and make a remark how this suicide tactic could probably take out one of his Upper moons, which we know to be true in canon.

That's true. Admittedly, he probably would keep his Demons around longer just to get rid of the Corps and Kokushibo seemed to think he would stay around after consuming Nezuko, so Muzan may just leave his Demons alone unless they directly annoy him, in which case, he kills them. Then again, that could also be potential arrogance from Kokushibo for not think Muzan may kill him if he succeeds. Still, it would be hilarious to see the Upper moons react to a Muzan that is not only smiling a genuine smile, but appears to be full blown happy.

Honestly, so long as he can get some blood from each Kamado and with time, that is a genuine possibility. I don't think he could initially do more outside of detecting that these 7 are not under his control and are Demons like him, since as you mentioned in the Tamayo chapter for the DQ Nezuko story, while the Demon doctor was free, her Demonic cells were still ultimately created from Nezuko herself and the Kamado family aren't in this scenario. Really is some interesting food for thought though, as it is completely uncharted territory.

Yeah, Kaburamaru is living well. And hey if there is one good thing that comes out of being thrown into this chaotic world, the snake dad can see his original hatchling and Mitsuri alive again and will probably push to get them together a lot sooner (aka before they die). For now though, he needs to deal with his crippled hatchlings and find a way back home, especially since this place is clearly not good for their already questionable mental health.

Thanks for confirming that, as I was admittedly a bit unsure given it has been a bit since I last saw Entertainment District arc content. But yeah, if the additional advantage of the Upper moons being thrown off by Slayer Kanao's presence stops the Sound Hashira from being crippled and they were told that, if things went close enough to canon Tanjiro and Kanao's world, the final battle between the Corps and Demons is very close, then Tengen does seem like the guy to join in the final push if he was able. Heck, we somewhat saw this since he was helping Shinjuro guard the surviving Ubuyashiki children. But yeah, Nezuko conquering the sun truly was the unexpected development needed to draw out the Demon King because if it didn't happen or Nezuko was at any point killed, then Muzan would probably just wait for any genuine threat to his life to pass away if his Demons can't kill them fast enough.

I can see it and Demon Kie would also be greatly concerned, though I wonder how her Demon instincts may react to Demon Tanjiro, both during the 'sister' phase of her mind and remembering the truth. As for Demon Queen Kanao, that potential crush really does depend on how she is reacting to a Demon like herself (which as you said, will probably result in a darker interest and I shudder to think about what Kanao will have in mind) and how the mind of a Demon Progenitor works when being turned. Because based on episode 11 of season 3, Muzan did appear fully aware of himself during the transformation process and after it was complete. So if that happens with Tanjiro, that speech that earned Kanao's love is still possible, though I do think you previously mentioned how that love will probably come with a desire to dominate Tanjiro now and I can see that as well if that plays out. As for the Upper moons, I think you are referring to when I asked how they would react to the Demon King Tanjiro from my Progenitor story or the childlike one from my Swapped fates of a family series since I don't think I asked about their reactions to Demon King Tanjiro in this context, but I am going off of memory and I may be wrong.

Actually, speaking of childlike Demon Tanjiro from that mentioned series, I actually made a new development in the last 2 chapters. In short, he has DID which manifests in his human self during the night of Muzan's attack on the Kamado family and the other was the childlike Demon we got to know throughout that story. How do you think your Demon Progenitors would react to something like that with childlike Demon King Tanjiro?

      1. Oh, we see for sure. But we never really get an entire explanation on things. The Manga never really goes into details, and I'm curious how much of an impact it would have left if we saw Muzan actually acting the Role he's taken during those times. But oh well, we didn't get that and probably won't in Canon.

It'll probably be more offhanded, but he could definitively say something like that, yeah. Because such a quantity of Wisteria is quite unexpected.

Honestly, if he goes around the path of ''I must devour them all'' then he's just going to pull of the Infinity Castle Arc but sooner, and probably pull baits for the Demon Slayers to take. I swear, when Muzan wants to do it, he can actually get it done. This Man wanted to find Nezuko, and in a matter of Months, by Boosting Nakime, he did exactly that. And found Ubuyashiki to while he was at it. But a happy Muzan... now that, is terrifying. Because who knows what kind of Nightmare happened to someone else out there?

If his Cells overtaking Yushiro's is anything to go by, he may just need to implant his Cells in them, and then his Biology can get to work. Pretty impressive stuff to consider actually, because Muzan was literally doing that through Nakime and actually winning the struggle too.

The moment when you realize that the Taisho Era probably was the last possible chance to kill Muzan. This Generations Hashira, alongside Nezuko and Tanjiro plus Tamayo, were literally the best chance they had to win this. If they failed? Muzan wins. This may as well have been their last chance since in Present days, the Blue Spider Lily is discovered. There may be some time left, but even if another Yoriichi was born during this time, who says it'll work out?

DKT of my side actually isn't all that surprised this happened to that Tanjiro. Trauma and the answers to it do come in many forms, DID is just one of them. So he's relatively unsurprised by this turn of events, after all, he's lived through an event that could have done the same thing to him. DQ Nezuko though, looks at him with Pity. DQ Kanao is probably the same as Nezuko there actually, though it doesn't impact her all that much either.

        1. Fair. Still, I am satisfied with how things turned out in canon and Muzan was still a very interesting antagonist to begin with.

True. And if the Upper moons witnessed it, they will definitely be impressed by Shinobu's suicide tactic considering the damage it does to Muzan of all people.

Honestly, the world seems like it should be thankful that Muzan became as arrogant as he did in canon thanks to living for so long with only Yoriichi having the ability to humble him. Because that arrogance made him really passive and it gave the Corps the opportunity to grow just enough to ultimately drag him into the sun. And yeah, given what a happy Muzan means, Kokushibo is probably going to feel a little bad for however had to suffer for it, because it must mean something absolutely horrible for practically everyone but the Demon King himself.

Fair point, especially since the Progenitor Kamado family are very inexperienced at this time and likely haven't used their new powers much. Though, since Tamayo did turn Yushiro and she was turned via the Demon Progenitor's cells, it's possible Yushiro also had Muzan cells in him still but they were simply dormant. Kind of like how after Eddie Brock had dormant pieces of Venom in his system and only got reawakened later in the comics a couple of years ago.

In terms of minimal casualties, it was the last chance humanity had there. Because while I'm sure a Nuclear bomb or even one of the early stages could do the job, we all know how much death it would cause to stop Muzan.

I can actually see those reactions, so thanks for answering the question.

Also, after checking a couple of our past comments to each other, I don't think we have talked about the Upper moons reactions to a Progenitor/Demon King Tanjiro that was accidentally created in the DQ Kanao world, how do you think they would react to that? And do you think Tanjiro would actually keep his mind if turned in that kind of way based on Muzan's backstory in the anime?

          Comment Actions
          1. I think, above all else, the world should also be glad that Muzan doesn't actually want to Rule the world. Or else, I feel like by the time of the Taisho Era, we'd have a rather different Japan. To a point where we'd already be in Canon Divergence by the time the story even started.

The thing is, I'm pretty sure a Nuclear Bomb could also cause Cell Mutations. Depending on how it goes, there's a 50/50 chance Muzan comes out of that stronger than ever. That's not accounting that even though Muzan was literally suffering from Multiple Drugs, one with literal Cell Destruction, that everyone seemed to agree that the Sun was the only thing going to kill him.

I mean, if Tanjiro is with his mind intact, then Kanao's got an additional reason to have him by her side. He's quite literally her other half. If she's the Queen, then he's the King and so on and on. Basically, those who know Kanao are going to quickly understand what she'll have in mind for this Tanjiro. But, honestly? We don't know enough about the Doctor's Medicine to know what was an intended effect and what wasn't. I bring it up in the Bright Moons Authors note, but I really, really doubt the Doctor's initial goal was to turn Muzan into a Demon. In fact, considering everything we know, Muzan may have just been the guinea pig on that experimental medicine.

            1. That's true. Heck, it's possible that humans are in hiding from the Demons and the Corps had to split into multiple safe houses that are either underground since Demons may not expect such a location and others would be on the top of a mountain because of how easily the sun would hit a climbing Demon and the height of such a location would provide natural protection. Or perhaps that mountain where Demons are kept on for Final Selection is a good refuge for humans here.

That's true. But depending on the Nuclear Bomb, I'm sure it would destroy most of Muzan's cells in the blast and with how weakened his remaining cells are, the radiation could potentially finish him off. But if Muzan survives and adapts, then the world better hope another Yoriichi appears before the Demon King conquers the sun.

Yeah, the moment DQ Kanao falls in love with Tanjiro, practically everything about him will just be an additional reason to love and have him by her side. Plus, with him being another Demon Progenitor and a young one at that, the emotionally stunted girl will probably come to the conclusion that the boy may just know something about the Blue Spider Lily itself. And you have a fair point on the Doctor and based off of the anime, my guess was that the man was indeed using Muzan as a potentially willing lab rat because of his dialogue and due to the medicine being so experimental within that era of japan. To the doctor, the result was likely either Muzan would be cured and he could reproduce it with evidence of success and if not, then he could just leave and still try to make something for its original purpose.

By the way, since I'm actually interested in actually writing something like this, can I ask for your permission so I can write a new-born Progenitor Tanjiro within your DQ Kanao world at some point in the future? And if there is anything you want me to include in that story if you give permission, then I don't mind doing it since it will take place in the world you created.

              1. I feel like on the outside, Muzan may seem like a normal guy ruling. But in the truth, he's basically killing off anyone who he deems useless in any way as Food. Japan may still follow up with the times, but... well, the Surface where the Sun shines isn't nearly as kind as you would believe...

Which is to say all of the Upper Moons are thriving. All while the Ruler says he wants to find a particular Flower... suddenly, it makes sense why the Demon Slayers aren't public.

At this point in Modern times, Muzan is legitimately and probably in a position where he's untouchable. Another Yoriichi isn't gonna be of help now. Especially because depending on how Muzan acts here, this second coming may never even know Muzan exists.

The Doctor was in a situation where he lost basically nothing if that failed. If Muzan hadn't been so bitter, he probably would have escaped with his life. Up until Muzan needs him so maybe he was better off dead.

I don't mind you doing that. So feel free to do so whenever you do want to make it. I'll probably read it actually, so I do look forward to that. Though, if you have any plans for when you do reach the Red-Light District and onward (and that I haven't reached that point by then, considering I do plan to at least write up an additional portion after I'm done with Blood Sun), keep in mind it's unlikely the Future Arcs remain exact same as Canon. I've got plans in mind, but unless you somehow completely outpace by the time you do start this, I'll keep quiet about them.

Though I'll ask you. Exactly how would your Progenitor Tanjiro work there?

                Comment Actions
                1. Honestly, I can see all of that for a Modern and wishing to rule Muzan. The bastard would certainly have more than enough experience to do what he wants and if a human somehow took his position of power by vote… well, he could always kill them and take their form as a worst case scenario.

True. And while I’m sad for his death, it was ultimately for the betterment of the world since it meant the Blue Spider Lily was just out of reach.

I’m glad! You probably will finish up that Au by the time I get to the Entertainment District arc since I will go into plenty of detail in a similar way to how I format my other stories and I’ll also be focusing on those as well. But if I do reach that point before you get to that point in your DQ Kanao story, then I’ll share my ideas with you to know if you think they can fit into that world and if you tell me about your plans for something, then I’ll keep quiet so people aren’t spoiled about your story and I will credit you for the original idea and such so people know we aren’t stealing from each other.

As for how Progenitor Tanjiro will work, I’ll take inspiration from that potential soup fact from the Databooks and have Tanjiro contract his father’s illness. During a search for medicine, Kie will hear a doctor talking about a Blue Spider Lily she gave him helped cure the flue from a child and luckily for her, the flower is blooming and so Kie makes medication from it and gives it to Tanjiro, curing him and accidentally making him a Demon Progenitor (Tanjuro having died a month before this). As a result, Nezuko goes down to sell coal and when Kanao shows up, she still easily overpowers Tanjiro and kills his family and does the speech that earns her heart when the sun begins to rise and she needs to run. Ultimately kicking off the story and providing a good explanation for things. What do you think?

                  1. Even worse is that he can make Puppets of Flesh. He could kill the one ruling and leave a Puppet behind that does his bidding. That's what he's done with several disguises once he's moved on, which is actually terrifying to think because that means Muzan can technically create Life.

Well, we'll see how it goes by then. There's still plenty of time before anything like that can happen.

I'll admit, it's good. Though, I want to add in something. Kanao's crush on Tanjiro should happen on a Second Meeting. She can have an interest in him when the story starts, but actual love and all that should only truly develop when they meet a Second time. In Asakusa for example, Kanao was interested in Tanjiro because he'd boldly tried to attack her, resembled Yoriichi yet was so different, and then went on to threaten her. All of that didn't start the crush, but it certainly formed the beginning stages that would bloom entirely once they meet a second time. That's about the only thing I think you should change, the *when* the crush begins. You can have it happen anytime later from Asakusa, Mount Natagumo or even later. But I really want to make it clear a Second Meeting is needed for the crush to start.

                    Comment Actions
                    1. That is indeed horrifying. On a slightly better note, perhaps it means those families he ended up worming his way into are still alive and well, like that little girl and that woman from Asakusa for example.

Glad to know you like the general layout and thanks. I'll be sure to use the second encounter to indeed develop that crush, or perhaps it will form before then? After all, DQ Kanao will likely keep an eye out for this Demon boy that is similar to herself when the sun makes her leave and when she probably receives the thoughts of other Demons being confused on why another Demon is fighting with a Demon Slayer girl, that may just catch her attention and will see Tanjiro once more. And seeing him going against his instincts even now and questioning why her Demons are taking life in the same way he did when they met... well, I can imagine at least an equivalent of a school yard crush forming before their actual second meeting solidifies everything. What do you think of that idea?

                      Comment Actions
                      1. Rei and her daughter probably are still alive. Largely depends on if he still sees a use in her. For that matter, let's hope he didn't end his disguises after discovering Nezuko.

That's be fine honestly. Just, the Second Meeting is important for the Love to be solidified, but the road to that path can be just about anything. Feel free to do what you want during that meantime. It also probably allows Tanjiro to realize he's a much closer being to Kanao than he'd first believed, if he didn't realize that sooner. Now, to see how the Kamado Siblings develop in such a world...

                        Comment Actions
                        1. Their survival really depends if their continued survival can be of use or if Muzan feels the need to wipe them out when he was made aware of Nezuko’s sun immunity. And sadly… a few were probably killed since the child disguise heavily implied that the family that adopted kid Muzan was being used as another way to look for the Blue Spider Lily or an alternative way to conquer the sun.

Glad to hear it! I also look forward to your reaction to how I’ll write DQ Kanao since I have a few ideas on how I can shift attention to her for a while during the early points of the story to help build up that interest. As for Tanjiro… well, I’ll just say he’ll need a few encounters with normal Demons before realising that, but I won’t spoil much. And as for how the siblings will grow in that world, all I can say is that I have plans to make Tanjiro a unique fighter while giving Nezuko her own thing, as well as to how they’ll be reacting to everything suddenly thrown at them.

I’ll let you know whenever I make and upload the story so you can check it out! And I still look forward to seeing more of DQ Kanao’s universe as well.
