  1. Thanks! And yeah, I tend to think Loki lies a lot less than people think, particularly in moments of emotional extremity. "I never wanted the throne, I only ever wanted to be your equal" still rings very true to me (and it's supported by how surprised Loki looks in the deleted scene where he's given Gungnir). Everything in the Void probably messed up his head, and once he had the throne he wanted to keep it, but nothing he's said makes me think that it was what he wanted to begin with.

    1. I tend to think that Thanos and the Other were the ones who messed with Loki's head; they had the Mind Stone, after all. That is, assuming that Loki wasn't trying to send out a dog whistle to Thor that he was acting under duress. Unfortunately, Thor was far too shallow to pick up on it.

      My headcanon wasn't that Loki wanted to keep the throne so much as he wanted Odin to praise him for doing a good job of protecting Asgard once Odin woke up. We all know how that came out. :-(
