    I really like this take! Very heavy and lots of oofs but an enjoyable read all the same <3

    I was introduced to Batman through ao3 so I’ve had the ultimate fanon experience when it comes to the Batman fandom. While I do enjoy the fanon dynamic between Jason and Tim (maybe not as much when it’s like, over the top where Jason tortures Tim and Tim still begs him to come home, I don’t have a huge problem with it but I just don’t like that the forgiveness comes to quickly I guess) I also totally agree that Tim standing up for himself and not forgiving Jason is the most realistic outcome if you think about what Jason did to the kid. Especially in this au. Like damn. And I know they are both unreliable narrators, but still, go off, king.

    I like having the option to only read fics with happy endings and batfam cuddles bc canon just makes me so sad (and there’s enough sadness in my life lmao), but I also think fics like these are good for people (like me) to perhaps look at Jason and Tim’s relationship from another angle. Very cool!

      Thank you so much! I’m glad you enjoyed it even if it’s not what you typically like! There’s absolutely nothing wrong with enjoying fanon or fanon dynamics, even if it’s not my cup of tea! I just wanted a story that allowed Tim to not like Jason and not have Jason’s actions excused by the pit because I don’t see a lot of those unfortunately, which is odd (sooooo many characters have been in a Lazarus Pit and the effects are extremely temporary guys 😂). It was important to me to show this take on their relationship because I feel like a lot of the times there’s unintentional subtext from authors that paint Tim and Jason’s relationship as incredibly abusive and having Jason be so easily forgiven is kinda harmful for Tim in certain contexts. That’s a whole other essay I could write but I won’t bore you 😂 thanks again and I hope you like the other parts of the story if you stick around ❤️
