    My headcannon for this AU is:

    Wei Wuxian went off to university and started going on dates. He went on a date with a tall, serious man who always thought before he spoke and listened intently to his ramblings, but then found him too boring. He went on two dates with a woman from one of his classes who sat in the front and took detailed notes in her neat handwriting, who had been kind enough to slip his homework assignments under his door the week that he had been out sick, but she had been too cheerful and talkative.

    He goes on a few more dates after that but then realises that he's comparing all of his dates to Lan Zhan which is incredibly unfair to them. So when one of his dates leans in to kiss him when they say goodnight after dinner, Wei Wuxian turns his head at the last moment so the kiss lands on his cheek.

    Soon after, he meets and adopts A-Yuan whom he happily plants one on anytime he wants to embarrass the boy.

    Lan Wangji knows that kissing is A Thing people do but the very idea of putting his face that close to someone else's face makes him queasy. Anyway, he gets all the bunny kisses he needs from Xiao Yin and Xiao Yang.
