    I see your dilemma. There is nothing wrong with a long slow burn. The fire can be all encompassing later, if you feel the story warrants it.
    This couple has spent 6000 years to get to this point, they don't operate on a human time scale. Besides, it's not like they don't have other things to worry about, right? lol
