    (The damn Soukyoku got rebuilt. :D Every time someone said "peace" in 685, I wanted to scream "PEACE MY FOOT". That is not peace - that is stagnation. That is /not/ moving forward - that's 'meet the new boss, same as the old boss.'
    And even before that, Ichigo going from "completely cracked from despair" to "100% A-OK" in the space of /a whole panel/ - no. No, no, no, people do not work like that. Having a huge chunk of one's mind /ripped out/ and then retconned back should /damn well/ have lasting repercussions.
    Captain!Rukia was awesome, don't get me wrong, but... since when does she qualify? Alternately, why was none of the required development on-panel?
    And Orihime just. kept. getting. further chickified. Ffffffffff...)

      I KNOW. To everything. Like, it gets to the point where the ass-pulls and shark-jumping are just pulling everyone out of character/reality. I could harp on about a million things, like how Kyōraku has at every point been characterized as not-Yamamoto, and basically ends up being Yamamoto in every way that matters. Or how BOTH Yachirus got shoved in the fridge to shill/power-up Kenpachi. Literally the two female characters involved at all in his life. At. All. Or how about 20 million plot devices amounted to nothing. *side-eyes Antithesis especially hard* Also, what is with Kubo and anticlimax endings? Aizen gets curb-stomped by Mugetsu!Ichigo, Yhwach apparently just needs to get shot with an arrow and then sliced in half after all. Never mind the part where he can CHOOSE THE FUTURE.

      *pulls hair*

      I know I love the potential of the source material when I'm this upset at what I perceive as mishandling. So that's something, I guess.

      And how did Rukia get made a captain before Renji? He had damn bankai way before she did, and a longer stint as lieutenant (and therefore actually leading a division?) I love captain Rukia as well, but I almost don't want it to happen if it's gonna be half-assed, you know?
