It was kind of the Doctor and Gazelle to take Rose to see her father, even being there so he wouldn't die alone. But Rose did take things too far. Well, at least now she can see that her parents were a mess as a couple, even if they loved each other. I love Pete and Rose scenes. I thought it was funny how Jackie had Gazelle and the Doctor watch over baby Rose, considering how she feels about them in 2005, and little Mickey imprinting on adult Rose. Good, they've apologized and made up. I'm glad that Pete realizes the truth and what needs to be done, no matter how heartbreaking it is. But it was not a smart move to put the Roses in physical contact with each other. Poor Gazelle is devastated. Even though I've seen this episode so many times, I'm crying over Pete's goodbye scene. I like that scene at the end with Rose and Gazelle. We the reader(s) learn more about Gazelle. Gazelle explains how Time Lords see time and how being a time traveler can change one's perception of time and history. I can see Gazelle being a renegade Time Lord, either her name stripped or choosing to leave her name behind with Gallifrey, but why did her husband and son have aliases/titles?
Yes, she didn't listen to the Time Lords and caused a whole heap of trouble. Actually, Gazelle wasn't a renegade Time Lady, spending all of her life pre-Time War as a humble technician on Galifrey. Her husband and son chose titles as per Time Lord custom. The titles of her parents will be revealed in a later story in the series.
