Comment on The Apple Tree

  1. Hi Frostie

    I'm glad you've been enjoying re-reading it!

Forgive me for taking so long to respond - first I had to find the bit you meant, and then I've been going over and over it. The thing is, Snape doesn't make the remark - it is Harry realising that Snape had made his remarks to discomfort him in general, rather than because he realised he was gay. That is, it is Harry's thought process in response to Snape's words.

That was what I was attempting to say anyway! I have been looking at it over and over to see whether I could make it clearer - I think I would now format it differently, but I have written the whole thing in that style so it wouldn't be an easy fix! My apologies.

    1. Thank you very much for your respose, very kind. That answers that then, sorry I wasn't to clear about where the bit was and I guess, since it hadn't been picked up before, the fault lies completely at my side. It does read like that, now that you pointed it out to me. I blame old age (on my side). No but really, thanks and you surely shouldn't change anything, totally my bad! Thanks for writing and I will reread your story every once in a while. There are only so many stories that hit the right note in angst/hurt. Take care and who knows, if the muse ever hits again.....

      1. No, I'm always grateful for readers pointing out errors or things that aren't clear, so thank you so much for taking the time to do so! It's very easy for it to be clear in your head and for that not to translate onto the page.

I hoped I might be inspired by the new script, but although I enjoyed it very much, no new ideas have sprung to mind!
