He was no longer necessary, and he could not tolerate the world, so he abandoned it. OUCH. god. the way he feels like he has completed his purpose, for better or worse, and there's nothing left for him to give, nor is there anything left to live for T_T so heartbreaking, you really nailed that feeling of emptiness solas gets with the world he knew so pale now. it got me thinking of his followers too, turned mortal and slowly dwindling as they passed away, probably trying to keep solas safe, but none of them would survive to see him wake :(
and!! i love that he thinks of losing his orb like losing an arm omg the parallel. knowing that he will lose the orb, and he'll also have to take the inquisitors arm because of the orb woof. this one Hurts <3
T_T yeahhhh this one hurt to write, too. but it's a scene I've always wanted to explore! there's smth so inherently tragic about his awakening to a world that's completely unrecognizable and trying to piece it together. and god, yeah, his followers... I think about them a lot, too. the lives they led, how they coped, all of it
