I always enjoy getting more back ground d to a character than the show gives us- and with the rewrite here, that gives you so much room to play- I’m excited to see what you come up with. Poor Alya and poor Adrien. What a mess they’re in… Gabriel really was absolutely stupid to substitute Marinette. As the author, if a stranger had died instead and Mari and Adrien were dating an everything was *almost* right in the world- do you think they still would have figured it out? Just curious
That one is a tough question to answer, but I've definitely already thought about it a lot. One of the biggest benefits of Adrien being the one to remember is that he is one of the only people with the information needed to find a way to reverse the wish. If a stranger was substituted, even if the family of that stranger remembered, none of them would know who Hawk Moth was or how to reverse the wish. As for Marinette and Adrien, they would have subconscious memories of no longer being superheroes. They might be able to regain their memories that way, or Emilie might straight up tell them, since she was aware that some kind of wish had been made from the beginning (she was aware that using the damaged Peacock would eventually kill her, though she had no idea how long it would take. It wouldn't have taken her long to realize that, since Colt Fathom had already died, that meant Emilie should have been dead by that point as well). Thanks for the question!
