The chapter with the final selection is simply wonderful! I also support your rage regarding the final anime selection! Seriously, no one is keeping an eye on them? What about guides? Did they stand there for the entire 7 days? Or did they come and go? Seriously, how...How is this even supposed to work in theory?! Sabito and Mokomo could be hashiros like Muichiro in rank speed. But simply because NO ONE bothered to make the system adequate... They both died. How many other promising children have they lost like this?! Or he returns to the guides again. What are their conditions? Seriously, anyone can attack them and they're supposed to just stand there and smile? Like... What the fuck? Okay, but if there are wounded... Will the guides take care of them? Or are the wounded simply sent back on foot? These children could be killed. Everyone (logically should) have a sword. They can just cut off their heads. This is what they are taught. In the manga, these children's ages are 6 and 5 years old. Why is no one monitoring their safety? These are literally the children, the heirs of the organization.
Maybe because of such an irresponsible attitude, Kagaya Ubuyashiki calls them his children? I don't know
I get that the Demon Slayer Corps is a shadow organisation with shortages of funding and personnel, and that they've struggled to exist after nearly being annihilated repeatedly, but yeah it doesn't excuse throwing away lives like they do. As for the Ubuyashikis, they likely are preparing their kids to inherit leadership quickly with their father's ailing health. Still a bit much for their age. Probably attribute it to the Corps' under-staffing :)

This makes some sense, though. We know that the organization somehow contains the Hashira. The same butterfly estate is a hospital. And this is a progressive hospital. Yes, there are about 6 people working there but somehow this system works. We know that wisteria helps hunters recover at home, etc. We were indirectly shown that they have a salary. With some money the main character buys udon noodles. They somehow maintain villages of blacksmiths. Where people live and work. Who always wear masks. And these are certain costs.
Logically speaking, it is strange that the government does not recognize them. How do they live with a bunch of unsolved murders? Does anyone other than hunters do anything at all?
