    She can be very mischaracterised in Fanon, but I don’t love all canon characterisations either. Like I love the idea that she finds ASL easier and her speaking in a little more choppy sentences considering the way her mind works, but I hate the Fanon infantilisation of her. So I love when someone perfects the mix between those, which is difficult but you’ve managed to get it!

      Thanks so much! Yeah, I also hate fanon lol. I wouldn’t day I hate canon, but let’s just say the 2000s was her best time, and that time is over now. I feel most fanon people just took the “ASL is easier” and ran with it but don’t actually put time into thinking why it would be easier for her. Like, there’s a bunch of misinformation that ASL was her primary form of communication in the comics which just…. Isn’t true? At all? She’s always been a “of a few words” truther. Her disability comes with the struggle of ANY language, whether that’s through words, spoken voice, or hand movements. It’s just that connecting hand movements to body language would be SLIGHTLY easier. It’s still incredibly difficult for her. But most people don’t know that cause they don’t read her shit! Drives me insane.
