    That is high praise and I'm glad you're enjoying it! Hopefully the later chapters and parts are of equal interest.

    Re characters: I think part of the draw of ME was that all the characters felt like someone you could realistically encounter, even if they were somewhat idealized. It was a group of exceptional people thrown into the highest stakes contest, but they were still people. (Versus caricatures you see in other media and recent games).

    So I really tried to capture that in this, and hope to continue the pattern in parts two and three.
