    Something I forgot to mention yesterday is that I would like to know what Peter's current situation is and what led him to make that decision.

    Also, if it's currently Spiderman or the spider hasn't bitten her yet, the dialogue where Quentin mentions that the phone is broken into a spider web or something made me wonder.

      About Peter's situation- to be honest, I hadn't really come up with anything solid until I was on the home stretch (it was just meant to be a quick, trashy smut fic to see if I could actually complete it).
      I also kinda thought, since Quentin is the 'narrator', and he doesn't know, then it's not essential for the reader to know, either. I dunno if it worked as a stylistic choice.
      Aaaand maybe part of me subconsciously wanted a reason to continue with this idea, haha.

      Anyway, to finally answer the question - I eventually decided that in this AU, Peter currently lives with his dad. His mother passed away a couple of years ago or so and his dad isn't coping at all - drinking too much, starting fights, getting fired from work, wasting money they don't have etc.
      Peter doesn't want to lose his dad, too, so he tries to pick up the slack when their savings start running out so he doesn't get taken away/starve/or they end up homeless. He probably needs to pay for heat suppressants, too. Maybe he also feels like a failure to his pack/dad as an omega, like he's not helping enough.
      Anyway, he can't find a job that pays enough (while also staying in school), so he tries this.

      As for your other question - I went with a non-powered AU because I'm not confident enough to write sci-fi/superpower stuff lol.
      So he's not spiderman, and won't get bitten (by a spider, anyway...). The spiderweb crack was just meant to be a cheeky little reference to spiderman for fun, while also being evidence (along with the ratty jeans, faded t-shirt etc) that he was struggling financially.
