          Agreed. It feels like that’ll drive them apart eventually. I guess what Uncle Rick was trying to do was showcase how Annie holds Percy back from doing terrible things, but he could’ve done that without her saying she was scared.

          My favorite interpretation of that scene is that Annabeth wasn’t scared OF Percy, but of Percy losing himself and, by proxy, her also losing him. That she was scared FOR him, for THEM.

            I want to interpret it like that too....I want to imagine she asked him to promise not to use it because the Olympians would feel threatened and try to off him....but the sad truth is...she was scared....she even told Piper she was scared of him (not for him)
            This is why I think canon Percabeth need to break up

              Agreed. While Percabeth isn’t a terrible couple, it was kind of ruined, especially because Annabeth didn’t have that much character development, and it kind of felt like she ended up demeaning Percy in Heroes of Olympus. I loved the dynamic in the original series though, because they were both flawed and fought for each other DESPITE that. Now I feel like they just love each other for the good, and are trying to ignore all the bad parts.
