    Yep! This is in fact the case.* Vio just doesn't know that for sure. After all, his primary associates are Tommy, Tubbo, Ranboo, and Purpled. Three people with a negative impression of Dream and one with a neutral impression. He, himself, is extremely wary of a hybrid of DayDream and Darkza. (Less so, now that he's actually seen the condition Dream is in. Kinda hard to be afraid of a guy in that state, and whatnot.)

    *There's some funky twists I'm gonna pull. Don't Worry About It, it won't be relevant for a while. It'll be a decent ways into the rewrites proper, which will be after this fic (approximately 2-4 chapters), some breathers (at least 2 chapters but maybe more, might get inspired), Visions 2 Electric Boogaloo (tentatively 5 chapters, this obviously isn't the actual title), and a decent ways into 2 Heavy 2 Handed (10 chapters! This is a very important fic and sets up SO MUCH. again, not the actual title.)

    The most likely place the twist I mean will be revealed is chapter 5 of 2 Heavy. So you're looking at a low end estimate of 14 chapters across four fics. Given my update speed (the stupid alt timeline docs keep distracting me)...like. It'll be a while, y'know?

    I'm more incentivized to update this because I do actually get comments, though. And since I've gotten over the rougher parts of this arc, I might?? Maybe??? update in a reasonable timeframe. No promises, I learned the hard way that strict deadlines/any deadlines for fics are like. Real fuckin' bad for me, personally, mental health and motivation wise.

    3x updates a week for Blood & Gold* wrecked me SO hard. I had most of it done in advance too, but was doing edits along the way. No regrets, but also, NEVER AGAIN. The burnout is lowkey still lingering after like three years.

    *My admin + /pos protege discduo tragedy fic, in which Dream is clearly like. Morally better than Tommy. I love that wretched little bastard lad Tommy tho, he's literally my favorite out of everyone I write. If the tags don't scare you off and you don't mind some minor spoilers (though no more than could be gleaned from reading the descriptions of later fics in this AU), it's very popular! Things go wrong not because Dream is a monster or lacks love. If anything, the problem is he loves too much.

    I love it dearly, it's my baby. I did spend literally 9 months on it before starting to upload, after all. A year in total...and the work definitely payed off.
