    When that design was revealed though I realized Rui was so right to have made his own version of the toy, and it was really so cute how seeing the notes Emu left for him reinvigorate him.

    Hard to choose a favorite line but “He wanted to tell her how he had loved her to the point of creation” is pure [AHHHHHHHH] emotions. Also: "I'm a genius, Emu-kun; it's my job to know these sorts of things" — heheheh I love reading this in his voice. Something about Rui talking cocky while feeling smitten just tickles my irony bones. What a very in-love goober.

      ALSO YESSSS OMGGGG rui TOTALLY loves emu to the point of invention/creation- one of the lines in the fic "To have someone who was so interested in his creations and loved every single one of them— to have someone who loved him with just as much fervor— was truly more than he could've ever hoped to find in life." DEFINITELY ties into it bc the way she loves all the things he does motivates him to make more and make them for her and its like an endless cycle BC THEYRE CUTE AND IN LOVE AHHHHHHHH
