   I love the Alexander Palace. The Catherine, while beautiful, is too grand and rococco like to live in for my tastes, and the Zubov wing might be too small for my liking. I do hope Alexei can eventually spend time in the Alexander for his reign, it’s a truly favoured residence of the Romanovs. Perhaps the former rooms of Alexander III on the other wing of the palace will do.

      In this case, the Catherine Palace is only serving as a temporary residence for Alexei's sisters who have come as guests. It's still pretty much used only for ceremonial purposes otherwise. :D Later on when Alexei comes to the throne, maybe the Alexander Palace will be used again. :)
