Thank you so much for your comment! I'm glad you're enjoying it!
In the manga, Shirokin starts planning to go co-ed toward the end. Sawada's cohort helps plan a "girls visit" day for prospective enrollment, which inevitably goes crazy! I have Eri and Yuka (Kagome's canon normie friends) talk about attending it in Chapter One. The portrait in the entrance exam is also canon to the manga 🤣
Re: Hokkaido. Also toward the end of the manga, Shinohara (note, in the manga he is the Kuroda family lawyer, NOT a cop, manga!Yankumi despises cops) goes to live back home in Hokkaido and Fujiyama talks Yankumi into going there to try and get him back. (Of course, this is Fujiyama, so she goes with as an excuse to travel, and then when she sees him, attempts to hit on him herself).
Re: Kagome and her friends - Eri, Yuka, and Ayumi don't get to take part in Kagome's adventures beyond the well at all, and have no idea that they even happened. So they're trying to figure out what the heck is going on with their friend. Meanwhile, Kagome is trying to figure out how to remain friends with people who haven't seen what she's seen, done what she's done, and have no idea about what happened to her in the first place.
So there's this odd push and pull between them that goes utterly unexplored in Inuyasha canon.
I think canonically they all go to the same high school during the three year gap at the end of the story, but I could also see Kagome being 1) sick to death of all of them and 2) too academically behind to make it into the same school they're planning for.
Anyway, thank you for reading and for commenting, especially when you're unfamiliar with Inuyasha! It means a lot!
Thank you for explaining so much to me; the manga now sounds appealing. I laughed at the idea of Sawada's "girl's visit" going badly wrong. To be fair, though, I can't imagine any such day in real life involving horny, hormonal teenagers and anxious adults (both staff and parents) going terribly well! 😂
You say, of course, this is Fujiyama in terms of the Hokkaido trip, but I don't remember Fujiyama being so predatory in the TV series. In any case, what a minx! I am also surprised that Yankumi didn't box her ears... or worse. But maybe that's why we love Yankumi, i.e. she's human like the rest of us, with clear shyness when it comes to romance etc.
As for Kagome, yes, I can see what you mean. That would be a tough experience for any adult, let alone a teenage girl. I imagine something similar (on a different level) might happen to many high school students who does an international student exchange. You learn a lot about yourself and about people more broadly, and when you get back home, a lot of stuff doesn't fit the way it used to...including some friendships.
As for commenting, it's my pleasure. I know that I enjoy feedback, and I think it's the least I can do if someone has spent hours trying to write a compelling story. By the same token, I often try to gift my stories as a way of showing my appreciation to the people who engage with my work. For many, it's the first time they've been gifted, and it's powerful- it makes them feel seen and valued 🙂
You're welcome! I could rattle on about the manga forever 😅. And yes! Manga!Fujiyama is an absolute pistol. She's so funny, and she's also a good and loyal friend. And yeah! An exchange student trip is a good analogy. There's just a gulf of experiences between Kagome and her friends!
You know, I've never actually used the gift feature, although I have linked a few requests here in the Gokusen fandom.
