Comment on Do You Remember Hating Me?

  1. Kindness was new to him. This kindness was what he’d quitely hoped for. A domestic sort of life. Something soft that wouldn’t be pointless to leave. He would retire the man he was and lay his head on fresh sheets each night. Small things would matter. He could imagine the way it would feel, to hold that hot cup of coffee in his hand while the morning news played and a familiar hand rested on his thigh.

He tasted it with the very person he’d dreamt of it being with. In the beginning he'd hoped Edamura would come just so he could experience this very fantasy. He figured if he could live it he could lay it to rest. But a disease does not simply rest. It eats at you till it replaces every good thing and leaves behind only itself.

Gardens were hard to pass now. Blossoming trees that were once a beautiful sign of life were now a blaring alarm of mortality. They, like Laurent, would wilt away once they came.

    Beautiful.
