Comment on Facing The Darkness, Finding the Light

  1. The issue is that you're trying to take your interpretation (which is a leap imo) and pass it off as canon. You don't seem to get my point.

There is nothing in Fury's dialogue that suggests that Tony had any major input in Project Insight besides working on the thrusters (which was a response to the events of the First Avengers movie and the problems he and Steve ran into during the attack in the second act).

But I've long since accepted that both sides of the Civil War fandom will do exactly what they accuse each other of doing. Thank you for wasting my time.

    1. When have I tried to pass it off as canon? As I said, its a given than no fanfic is canon.

Nick Fury'ss words aside, Winter Soldier is ultimately about authoritarianism, and how it takes hold in a society. This isn't even about Civil War or Civil War fandom, except insofar as authoritarianism features in that movie. It is about my interpretation of a character who is canonically an authoritarian- or at least a supporter of authoritarianism.

      1. You outright claim that Tony designed the Helicarriers. Not in the fanfic, in canon.

Nothing suggests that Tony had any major involvement in the design of those weapons except your headcanon. And your justification for why he did was 'oh, Tony's authoritarian' which isn't somehow proof that he did it.

        1. The idea that Tony only designed the the is thrusters is frankly odd, lets be real. Especially since we know weapons are his specialiity. Its called a reasonable interpolation on the basis of the available evidence. Plus, we do not always have to take every word a character says at face value. Fury is a great guy, but we know he sometimes fudges things. He is a spy after all.
