    Just went through what you've got so far and I have to say that I am impressed~ You've added a fun twist to the story by simply giving Akane a hobby outside of Martial Arts and used elements that are usually ignored... Sorry, Gos.

    You have a good sense of how the characters talk to each other and even reflect on what they say and do. It's refreshing compared to the usual cartoon emotions some people take from the canon story and I hope it continues. Ranma's breakdown at 'feeling' Akane nearly die was especially well done; just a sudden snap of emotions and feelings that are hard to just play off as a joke like she was doing with the rest of the fight. As a side, while I think your bias is fair, I do hope Ryoga can get his own growth. While I agree the canon character isn't that great, I think you've got the writing style to balance him as the big idiot he is and a good supporting character for what's to come... Well, what's /probably/ to come. Sadly I don't have magic to check the future myself.

    I am interested to see where you do take this story, especially with Genma being a reasonable character so far. It's refreshing to see and I'll be surprised if there isn't a small cut away to him asking Soun why he stopped trying to train Akane, especially with the Hentai Horde as they were, and being the one in the right for once. Nabiki and Akane's relationship is also refreshing as it's clear Nabs is supporting Akane in her own way, even if it may not leave the best taste in her mouth from dealing with Kuno. Regardless of what you do though, I'm sure it'll be interesting and fun to read, at least if what you've got so far is anything to go by.

    Oh, I was also surprised to see Emi showing up. It's amusing to see her show up as a multi-world/story character. Maybe she'll join the Goth Girl Group starting to form, too. Guess we'll wait and see~

      As for Ryoga...

      Breaking down a character to learn what makes them tick, you definitely figure out some ways they could improve, and I do have ideas for Ryoga to get some character growth, just... I wouldn't hold my breath for it. It's far enough out that I can't say for certain the characters will actually let me get there without derailing things significantly, and it'll definitely get worse before it gets better. Ryoga has... a lot of potential as an antagonist. ;)

      The Tendo family is definitely something we'll be exploring more of, and soon, honestly. ;)

      And Emi's a funny story, because I was complaining in the Speakeasy about how the usual classmate characters (Daisuke, Hiroshi, Yuki, Saiyuri, etc.) don't really have any canon personalities to build off of, and that I'd honestly have more fun throwing a character like "Emi Livingalie" into the mix... and Cynical_Prince saw it and told me to just go for it, so... here we are. ^^;
