Francine: biting her nails. it's kind of a two-way street between being some kind of coping mechanism or some unconscious way of distracting herself. Muffy would foam at the mouth once she saw what francine's done to the manicures she'd give her.

muffy: Overspending, she shops like every other day. Her parents are kinda weird about it-they let her shop with reckless abandon but their jaws drop to the floor the moment they look over her credit card bills lol.

fern: probably overthinking. Fern's somewhat self-conscious of her surroundings and other people's opinions of her so she tends to do it way too much.

Lan: This dude loves shibari so probably tying shit that's rope-like up lmao (also an unconscious way of distraction)

Diaspro: kind of an oversharer. Diaspro's never really had many people to pour her heart out (i guess maybe besides her mother) to until breakin' breakiverse, so she tends to spill a bit more than she should. It's certainly in no way out of malice though.

arthur: jane and david's oldest and their golden child! He's a borderline manchild with short man syndrome at best and a ticking timebomb at worst-very volatile temper along with a raging victim complex engineered by jane and david constantly spoiling him + stacking so much academic and societal pressure onto him. Arthur IS the poster child of r/ImTheMainCharacter-he always acts like a self-obsessed dickish control freak to overcompensate for his crippling insecurities and the fear that he'll be a literal nobody without the "perfect child" status. he somewhat hates to admit it but he's also deeply unhappy with his life. he's stuck working a shitty 9 to 5 job when income from his flop writing career just wasn't doing it, his friends more or less cut contact with him, and he's currently in a very struggling relationship with francine-they argue constantly and are pretty much on the verge of breaking their engagement, all of which are these excuses he uses to take it out on others. He hates d.w. with a passion because not only jane and david pretty much wasted most of his childhood making her his responsibility when they were too busy resenting her to raise her, but like his siblings he's honestly jealous of the freedom jane and david's neglect/abuse basically gave her. He's somewhat (reluctantly) aware that jane and david are really to blame for straight-up parentifying him but he doesn't officially bring himself to fully hold them (let alone anyone who's ever made him feel seen and validated as a person or within his emotions) accountable for any of that, he still has trouble actually doing it in the middle of begrudgingly realizing that his parents aren't as perfect as he thought they were but still blames D.W. as some way to escape having to face all the uncomfortable truths within his family.

- the whole "blaming D.W. thing" is a coping mechanism btw, was called out multiple times by his friends for how creepy/unhealthy that is.

-i mean the short man syndrome thing, dude is like 5'6 (people would often poke fun at the size difference he and francine have and he haaaaaaates it)

D.W./winnie: Jane and david's fourth (?) oldest child, was actually adopted by them. Was once born and raised by loving parents until CPS seized her from them due to a misunderstanding. jane had a miscarriage so she and david turned to adoption to numb the pain of losing the child they could've had. Legit ended up becoming jane and david's least favourite child and one of the most dysfunctional members of the family thanks to their abuse. As a child she's a huge brat as in canon but her over-the-top confidence/temper is just a defence mechanism and her annoying behaviour is just her way of seeking attention + validation from others outside of her family. In the grand scheme of things she's literally just a vulnerable child being raised in a way no child should be raised in-she just lashes out the way she does because all she really wants is love. She ends up relatively dropping the mask when she gets older as soon as the abuse/bullying gets worse and worse (she would take up self-harm as a coping mechanism), sometimes she'd spiral pretty hard and have really bad meltdowns she tries to keep private + would even try killing herself, but she'd either back out due to consciousness/last-minute fear. In her late teens aunt lucy would take her away following an argument with jane and david-lived with her in elwood for quite some time before the two relocated to delmarva. d.w. decided to move out of her aunt's house in her early 20s with (her assistance) to try to find herself and determine the future she wants to choose, and that future lies in her passion for well, becoming a singer. D.W.'s still severely mentally ill + struggles with outbursts at times, but this time she receives actual help and guidance with help from her therapist and found family.

kate: jane and david's fifth oldest child. Kate was definitely a part of the "lets get D.W." bandwagon growing up (simply because she wanted to keep up appearances + feel somewhat included within her family outside of being this vessel of the "perfect child" title) but after becoming a semi-disillusioned college student she wants to be the first to break the toxic mold of her family. spoiler alert she isn't really doing a very good job of it-she has ambition, smarts and a (somewhat) good head on her shoulders but is also a slave to self-righteous behaviour. once she took off the rose-coloured glasses she saw her family with she claims to relate to d.w.'s trauma even though her words of comfort are all but thinly-veiled victim blaming and condescension at best. She's also kind of a pick-me girl-she has this weird unchecked habit of openly comparing her friends and their interests to hers and tries a little too hard to prove how different she is from other women whenever attracting a guy's interest is in the equation.

Pal was like the only friend (aside from mei-lin I guess) she had growing up so it does make sense for her to carry that kind of baggage.

He showers, applies a charcoal scrub onto his skin, washes out his excess hairspray and gel (to sleep comfortably), brushes teeth, blow dries and brushes hair, uses castor oil and serum to promote thickness + growth, uses retinol serum and rose water toner for clearer skin and takes 10k mcg of biotin before bed.

opal: a little less complicated than steg's-she brushes her teeth, oils her scalp (she sometimes doesn't when she's wearing a protective style), uses an ice roller and serum for her face, puts on her bonnet, doomscrolls for a bit and its lights out.

D.W.: takes another shower, has a smoke, brushes teeth, writes on her blog for a little while, watches a bit of TV or youtube and that's it

Steg: Southern accent, not overly thick but still very noticeable. calm, very passionately and charismatically  to resonate with his laid back kindhearted nature. Deep and smooth, he can surprisingly become very measured and articulate at meetings or celebrity interviews.

opal: somewhat quietly and pleasantly with an edge that's captivating, similarly to steg. But expect a few pauses when shes confused/doesn't have much of a clear way of explaining things for herself. Deep and husky, tends to speak a little louder when speaking patwah

jaime: deep, is very casual and chill, light hispanic accent.

D.W.: deep and slightly raspy, speech is noticeably slurred. Sometimes ends sentences with vocal fry, voice tends to crack (especially when she yells). noticeable portuguese accent

rodrigo: not too deep, but casually and somewhat quietly, will definitely raise his voice in an emotional state.

sardonyx: raspy yet boldly and conversationally, british accent

stefan: passionate and somewhat dramatic, he literally sounds like steven with a deeper voice.

jasmine: bubbly and conversationally, somewhat lilting.

diaspro: Light sounding, but concise and articulate. stops for literally no one when she's relaying information, placing orders or giving a presentation.

Madison: living the dream. Moved to Manhattan in her early 20s, dated and eventually married sutton and became a socialite who does charity work + runs a nonprofit organisation on the side. Definitely rubs elbows with fellow socialites and other celebrities since that's kind of her job but her only actual friends are nia, kenzie and jai. so she's pretty happy with having a relatively small friend group now. chelsea, delancey and nolee have tried reaching out to her every once in a while, but madison wants nothing to do with them (I'm still salty that madison was made the villain of the two movies so I like to think that she cut off the girls lol).

Kennedy: became a class A clout chaser. She basically ditched the girls and moved back to LA in order to boost her "career" as a celebrity, but mostly lands acting gigs in tubi movies and is hardly widely known outside of that and a small following on her social media accs. Prays to God every now and then that someday she'll make it big, but ends up working retail in the meantime in order to afford acting classes and continue her party girl lifestyle while studying real estate as a backup plan in case all else fails. She's still dating river and the two live together, but he still hasn't fully moved on from barbie and tends to bring her up often which causes like a lot of discomfort and pressure for kennedy + friction between the two. Pops in and out of the girls' lives whenever she feels like it with backhanded compliments and tales of her latest endeavours while secretly resenting their successes in life.

Alternate scenario is that Kennedy does become famous and is officially married to river from that point but she's still unhappy and dissatisfied with the state of her life and kind of wishes that there was more to it than grinning and bearing through her inner pain-shes grown somewhat weary of the monotony of being a celebrity and is kind of ashamed of feeling that way (even though its completely valid), conflict between river and her older friends left her angry + distressed big time,  and she genuinely feels alone and lost in a world she worked so hard to claim as hers.

Nolee: continues her quiet bohemian life. Works as a yoga teacher and dabbles in the healing crystal business on the side, showing off her vast collection and selling some product on her socials. She deeply misses the friendship she and the girls used to have  and has definitely grown to have a lot of guilt for partially driving madison further from their orbit. Is dating Chelsea

Chelsea: became a fashion designer-started off selling her pieces on depop before she gained more and more traction  by posting them + some design sketches on her socials. Is in a relationship with nolee and close with kenzie in that shes kind of like her "mentor" since the two basically have the same careers in different fonts. (she still has her deep raspy voice from the early My Scene content because I hate her new one LMAO)

delancey: very ambitious, homegirl's doing it all lol. She's a pet groomer, a personal trainer and a female tony hawk in the making. 

barbie's future is pretty obvious lmao. Moved to california, started anew, met ken, had a few movies, evolved her fashion sense, did a reality show (Life in the Dreamhouse), became an unfortunate victim of milliefication, and had a funny live-action film made in her honour that kinda helped win back the crowd for her. The beef between her and a certain group of girls with a passion for fashion still stands strong.

as you probably guessed i'm pretty biased towards Kennedy so I like to think that she progressively created a negative vibe within the my scene gang after barbie left. nolee and kenzie would end up phasing out of the group entirely (basically my interpretation of an in-universe reason for their discontinuation) and nia and probably delancey are pretty much acting as the buffers between kennedy vs. madison and chelsea.

Madison is a child of divorce. she's still very close with her parents-her father definitely dotes on her a lot and gives her free rein to do whatever but is also very supportive and protective of her. Her mom's the same way, she hangs out with her during weekend custody and they chat every day.

since river and kennedy are dating i like to imagine that Kennedy kinda tries a little too hard to emulate barbie's image since river's pretty much grown to have an indirect habit of comparing the two because he still isn't over barbie. (river and barbie broke up not too long after barbie moved to california since the transition of their relationship becoming a long distance one became too difficult to manage + they clearly weren't going to work out anyway) its like cassie dressing up as maddy and jules to impress nate + crystal in season 6 of The Girls Next Door.

Kennedy also has a very tough time acknowledging the fact that in the grand scheme of things she's literally just a rebound/"replacement goldfish" for river. It's just an all-around depressing situation.

I've always theorized that the tweevils are actually nice. they definitely antagonize and sabotage the bratz a lot but deep down they really like them and want to be their friends (since we see them trying to involve themselves in some of the bratz' plans and read the magazine). they're just afraid of stoking burdine's wrath by betraying her like that + are kind of resentful of the bratz since they're popular and they arent.
