Sun had been traveling with the group for around a week or so. He and Monty have been getting energy from the sun. Thank goodness, he would’ve died a while ago without the upgrade in his body. Apparently Monty had it too, which was good. Only thing Sun really had to complain about was how dirty he was. He could feel hsi program screaming at him to get clean. He didn;t have anything for him to clean himself with so he tried his best to stay as clean as possible.
They’d travel around 500 miles, which was a good distance. The terrain had changed drastically, it took 2 days to get out of the forest, then 4 days they traveled a prairie like landscape. It was quite safe. The big animatronics could easily be spotted and the only thing that had to really worry about was the smaller ones that were small. Like the mini ballora’s. They could easily get rid of them though. They survived on bugs and some creatures like prairie dogs that were smaller, and far harder to catch. They finally reached an end which was the base of a big mountain. Around 50 kilometers up.
They all agreed that they should look for resources. Monty and SUn were in charge of gathering firewood, while the people would catch the food, and gather the food, and some fur to try and stay warm. He and Monty had a hard time finding some trees but managed to find some trees. Monty carried all the heavy stuff, the branches. While Sun carried kindling material along with some dry grass.
Today was the day. They were going to scale up that mountain. They had everything they needed, food, clothing, kindling, and wood. All they needed to do was climb the mountain and hopefully get to the other side, or find a tribe. Finding a tribe was much more preferable.
“You ready.” Monty looks tauntingly at Sun who probably had a nervous expression on his face. He really didn’t want to get lost, or worse, lose more people from the leaf tribe. They probably thought he knew what he was doing. He did not know what he was doing.
“Yyeah!” Sun tries to put on a confident smile as they all trek forward into the snow. The snow… the snow.. The snow…
It was practically 2 hours later. The children were whingin, the adults were starting to get frustrated. The snow started to fall harder. And the Sun’s systems were about to shut down! He could barely feel anything in his mechanical body, which for humans is not a good sign.
“S-sun.” He heard Timmy stutter. Sun looked behind to see Timmy. He could tell that their body temperature was lower than normal. Icicles we’re starting to form on the mask. “I think we need to find a spot to rest…” Timmy shivers.
“Agreed.” Monty says, shaking as well. “I can hardly feel my tail.” Monty looks at their tail ins and less. Sun knew how much Monty loved their tail.
“Yeah…” Sun says as he tugs at his rays in nervousness. They were also growing icicles on them. The metal felt so cold like it could snap any moment. He realized that the humans were probably so much worse. The cold was going to kill them. He felt anxiety raise, he;d led these people to their graves.
They found a nice spot on the side of the mountain.Thankfully, because the snow was falling heavier and the snow was up to SUn’s knees, he had to carry the children in both of his arms. The place blocked them from the wind, while it was howling.
He and Monty put up the fireplace and tried to light it. It was har dot since the wood was wet and the snow only worsened it. But after a good 15 minutes a spark damaged to light the grass which spread to the branches. Finally, They had some warmth, THey all sighed at the fire flickering.
The children gather close to the flames trying to embrace its warmth. The olde adults huddled together which reminded Sun a lot like penguins. He and Monty stayed close together as well. Sun felt a bit safer around Monty, maybe it was because he comforted sun in his time of need.
The humans got out the food while they all tried to plan their next course of action.
“I say we go back.” One of the tribe members suggested. “We need to resources and we’ve already burned through good ⅓ of our supplies, not to mention our clothes are soaking wet”
“If we continue we could reach the end!” another argued.
“If not?! We’re dead!” They bickered on and on. Sun felt hsi rays retract inside his head. He hated fighting.
“Calm down.” The Elder’s voice was raised. He had a stern one. Sun never heard it before, he was proud of how Timmy was controlling the situation. “ We solve this, take a vote!” Timmy yells. Everyone glares at each other and nods their heads in agreement. “Those who are in favor of going back!” Timmy says.
Then a howl is heard. Not the wind howling sorta of howl.. The one that comes from a predator, the one that comes from something that was close by. The one that is slowly approaching camp. Everyone goes silent. Sun could potentially hear everyone’s heart thumping in their chests.
SUddenly a scream broke out. A giant animatronic jumps out at them pulling one of the children down into the snow. The child’s screaming and crying. The tribe members quickly reach for their weapons. Sun and Monty jump up. Montyt tries to attack the animation. Which he had nwo a closer sight on… IT WAS ROXANNE!
She had no eyes on her face. She had her snout but not her eyes. Her paint was scratched off, and she had snow practically stuck to her. She looked like a winter wolf. She growled, like a rabid animal, the child in one hand as the kid screamed and screamed.
Sun felt himself freeze up, it reminded him so much… so much for that dreaded day. He shook his head trying to snap out of it.
Suddenly a spear got shot down almost taking down Roxanne, She twitched and growled barking then running away. The child screamed for help but no one dared run after them, who shot the spear?! Were they enemies? Allies?
Suddenly a person jumps down from above. They wore all white. They turned around and all the tribe members gasped. The person had ski glasses on with a mask as well. They wore a big suit that was covered in fur. More people jumped down looking the exact same.
They found another tribe.
----------------------------------------
Around a month had passed for Moon. He knew from what the info he gathered from Solar is that that was the equivalent of a week in the Ruin dimension. Time passed much slower. He didn;t know whether to be glad or even more worried.
On one hand Sun could be doing ok, not much could happen in a week…right? On the other hand, he would have already lost his brother to the virus or some virus driven animoto inc. The very thought made him want to break down crying.
He, Monty, and Solar had been working, not overworking, his family made sure of it. So they all worked at a steady pace. Solar suggested they would work on just trying to get through the firewall. Try and find the coordinates then work from there. They worked hard and they had finally gotten something. Very faint trace of the dimension, it was like it was being muffled out.
“We got a lead.’ Solar says looking over at the data. “We need to plan.”
Moon wanted to dive head first, and bury himself in work again. But he knew that his family was going to pull him out and have a stern talking to with him.
“We gotta continue tracing it.” Monty says gruffly, arms crossed. “We can try and slowly link it up without the Creator noticin.”
“What do you think Moon?” Solar asks, turning to Moon's direction. Moon grunts in return. He wasn't sure what to do. Monty was as close to plan as any of them were. So Moon nods his head. “Then let's start.”
------------------------------
The patrol group escorted them to a small village. It was made out of igloos. Small children were running around throwing snowballs at each other. While the adults seemed to be working on getting more resources.
“Wow.” Monty sighs. “You guys sure did make yourselves at home…”
The patrol group stays silent. Didn't matter, the leaf tribe didn't seem very social at the moment. They had just lost a child. Sun felt incredibly guilty. He could’ve helped… He sighs repeating what Monty had told him. ‘Not everyone can be saved’ He was going to save them all once they got to the Creator’s place.
The patrol group lead them to the nuggets igloo, Sun Was getting Dejia vu with what happened with the leaf tribe, guiding them to the tree. This time they were in a winter wonderland. More like a winter wasteland.
Inside the igloo was actually quite nice. More toasty inside. There was an older man who was talking with other people. He had the biggest suit, it looked incredibly fluffy. They soon noticed the patrol group,
“We have brought these intruders!” The lead patrol member yells stabbing their spear at the ground bringing attention to them all. Everyone looked at them. Sun felt his anxiety rise. WHat if they didn’t accept him like the Leaf tribe did…?
The leader steps forward looking at them in wonder. Timmy steps up. He was smaller than the leader of this tribe. But still Timmy stared at the leader dead in the eye showing no visible fear.
“I am the Elder of the Leaf Tribe.” Timmy says with confidence. “We have come here seeking allies!”
Mutters broke out in the igloo.
“Why do you bring animatronics?” The man gruffs looking at Monty and Sun. Sun couldn't tell if it was with curiosity or with disgust. “They…are so tame.”
“We, or should I say.” Monty shoves Sun foreward. He couldn't help but detest the alligator right now. He felt the eyes of everyone look at him. “Foudna cure for the virus. Be cured me.”
“Cure…” The man looks closer. ‘I thought Moon and Sun conjoined ages ago…” Ruin who was the combination of him and Moon. “Yet… you're still Sun.”
“Yes, I come from another dimension.” Sun's rays finding confidence he did not know he had. “I found the cure and I hope we can work together.”
“Sun…” The leader looks at him with curiosity. “And Monty… Do… you remember me?” The man asks. That’s a weird question. Remember him…? Sun can't remember any other kid, also apparently Monty knew him.
Sun looked at Monty who shrugged back. “I have never met this man in mah life.” Monty simply says.
“No. I am the son of Roxanne.” The leader says. Son of Roxanne… GREGORY?!
“GREGORY?!” Sun and Monty yell. The tribe members were looking confused. Both tribes were quiet.
“Yes!” Gregory laughs. He had grown… So much. His voice was so gruff, and Sun was practically the same height as Gregory. “That’s me!”
Monty hugged Gregory who hugged back while the tribe members looked even more confused. Sun just stood awkwardly to the side. He didn’t know Gregory. But it made him happy that Monty and Gregory knew each other.
Gregory and Monty pull away from the hug. “You’ve sure grown up, lil man.” Monty says ruffling with Gregory’s fur on his suit.
“Yes I have!” Gregory laughs. He then looks around to the rest of the tribe members. “These are guests! They should be welcomed!”
The tribe members looked confused but once they realized they were no longer in danger they cheered. They greeted the other members with heavy clothing and guided them outside.
The blizzard finally slowed down…
