Summary
In 2243, the Randall family serves aboard the Imperial Terran warship I.S.S. Fort William under the command of Captain Jonathan Randall.
They are on a tedious mission to capture some rebels, led by one James Fraser, a Klingon and a Vulcan, who are on the run with a stolen vessel. Captain Randall is supported by emperor Clarence Marylebone himself - but can he trust him?
Meanwhile, James T. Kirk is planning to become emperor himself. He brings the right name for the job, at least.
The rebellion eventually leads to the declaration of the Terran Republic, with the rebels overthrowing the emperor with future technology - about 200 years advanced future technology everybody is wondering about.
