Summary
"Steve? You okay?" James asks, watching his boyfriend go pale as a sheet looking at the pasta he's boiling.
"Hm?" Steve sways on his feet but doesn't seem to notice or care.
"You’re not looking so good," James grabs his upper arm in case he falls, "Steve? Look at me," Steve's eyes are completely glazed over. He's pale and sweaty too. "Steve?" James says louder.
"What?" Steve looks up at him dazedly.
"Are you okay?" James is worried now. This is unlike Steve, even when he's not feeling good.
"Yeah, I'm...I'm fine," He offers an obviously forced smile.
"No, you're not," James sighs, and pulls him toward the kitchen chairs, then pushes him to sit. "What's wrong?"

"How's Steve doing?" Tasha asks.
"He's…" James could answer in one word, or a monologue. "He's not doing so good."
"Yeah," Tasha shakes her head, "I mean does he even eat? Or, well, can he at this point?"
"He tries, but he throws up almost everything," James sighs, and claps his two pieces of bread together. "He had the NG for like three days, then he threw it up, and they decided not to place another one for fuck knows what reason."
"What about an NJ or a surgical thing?" Tasha tilts her head. "TPN?"
"I've begged and pleaded," James is exhausted at this point. "He's lost twenty percent of his body weight. I don't know what to do."

Summary
"Steve, breathe, you're having a panic attack," James murmurs. He sets his hands on Steve's shoulders. One is warm, the other is cold metal. "Here, sit up," James guides Steve to be upright, but he's too disoriented to get his feet on the floor, so James has to help him do that too. "Head between your knees, okay?" He gently pushes on Steve's back to get him bent over.
"I'm so s-sorry," Steve rasps, then helplessly coughs when he inhales snot and saliva.
"It's fine," James runs his hand up and down Steve's back. "You've been all jittery and quiet for a while, I figured this would happen."
"I don't…I don't f-feel very good," Steve sniffles.

Summary
"Buck, my head really hurts," Steve groans, letting his temple flop onto James's shoulder.
"I know," He murmurs. Steve's been having near-constant migraines. They kept trying the G, but each time it led to hours of vomiting, which meant more loss of electrolytes, and now that's led to these horrific headaches.
"I don't think I can do this," Steve gulps and squeezes his eyes shut. For Steve's sake, James is grateful that they didn't have to stay in the waiting room, and the MA brought them right back.
"We just really need to figure out your tube, okay?" James whispers. He just wants to wrap Steve in his arms and never let go. "I promise we'll go right home after this, and you can take a nap."

Summary
"Shit, shit, shit…" He mutters to himself. He bolts upright, then runs to the ensuite bathroom. He grips the edge of the sink so hard that his knuckles turn white. James even took off his prosthetic tonight, thinking he may actually get more than an hour of sleep. It feels all wrong.
Hot tears run down his cheeks before he's ready. His chest hurts, like someone threw an ice pick into his heart. James cries loudly. It doesn't even sound like his own vocalization. His voice box feels like it's being controlled by someone else.
Dizziness and exhaustion hit him like a truck, then fade to sparkles in his visual periphery. James's legs seem like they've just turned to jello, and his entire body wobbles with the lack of stability.
"Fuck," He falls sideways. His right palm and hip collide with the floor. "Motherfucker," He says, a bit too loudly. It triggers a wave of aching sobs, and stirring from the bed. Fuck. He woke Steve up. James wants to slap himself in the face, but if he were to lift his hand, then he'll fall backwards and surely hit his head on the tile floor.

Summary
All Yelena manages to do is roll onto her side before stomach acid is splashing up all over the sheets. "Fuck," She mutters, then gasps for air as another mouthful of bile forces its way out her mouth.
As soon as nausea dies down enough for her to think, she panics. What is she supposed to do with vomit-covered bedding, especially when every muscle in her body is aching and quivering, especially especially when it's not her house.
Usually, she'd put the sheets in the wash herself and remake the bed. If she were too ill, she'd get James or Tasha. Now, she supposes she should probably find Clint or Laura, but the idea is downright horrifying. At least it's only eleven fifteen, they might still be awake.
Yelena sighs and decides to bite the bullet.

"Tash?" A warm hand appears on her shoulder, it flicks to cold, then back again. The muscles of her scapula twitch and a shiver runs down her spine, leaving a slight throb at the base of her skull in it's wake. "You alright?" No, yeah, sure, whatever. Wait, calm, speak.
"Mhm," Tasha hums. Close enough.
"You have an order for table 7, they've been waiting for fifteen, so you have a minute if you need," Clint says softly.
"No, I got it," She has it. She always does. She needs to. It doesn't matter that the edges of her vision are oddly fuzzy in a way cocaine can't usually manage, or the vague lines of paranoia that trace their way from her basal ganglia to each nerve in her body.
Tasha takes a breath, gulps back bilious saliva, turns around, and picks up the small tray marked 7. "Be careful."

"Hey, Stevie," James whispers as he crouches down next to him. Steve stirs, but doesn't open his eyes. "Steve, hey, wake up," James says a bit louder, squeezing his shoulder gently.
"Hm?" Steve's eyelids flutter, then he nearly bangs his head against the bathtub as he slightly jerks awake, but James is quick to slide his hand between skull and porcelain.
"Hey there, love," James murmurs.
