Summary
William’s hands shook where they rested on the steering wheel. He tried to keep his leg from bouncing out of nervousness, but he wasn’t managing well. He wasn’t sure why he was so anxious to drive when he had done it a few times before and once even in a dangerous situation. Maybe the man sitting beside him made it seem more real.

Summary
“Alright,” Tide said with a sigh, clasping his hands together as he inspected the gear lying around him on the boat. “Poles? Check. Food? Check. Tackle box? Check. Dakota? Check. Vyncent? Right beside me. And, last but not least, William? William?” He looked around the boat, his heart beginning to speed up in a panic as he didn’t immediately set eyes on him.
“Here,” a tired voice answered back.
Tide turned to the sound, sighing with relief as he spotted William still standing on the dock. “Why’re you still over there?”

Summary
Vyncent shook his head. “Are you sure I’m not going to drown?”
Tide sighed. With the flick of his wrist, a bit of the water from the waist high pool stood up in almost an arm shape, giving Vyncent a little wave. “I think I am more than capable of keeping you from drowning, son, it's my whole deal in fact.”

“You don’t need to help me,” Dakota assured. “I’m sorry for keeping you up.”
Tide sat up again, shaking his head. “No, no. I want to help, don’t apologize. We’re gonna beat this math together,” he assured. “No matter how sleep deprived we get.”
Dakota smiled at this, then pushed his notebook toward him. “Help.”

Summary
“What happened?” Tide croaked out.
“We bought real food,” William explained, gesturing with jazz hands toward the cabinet. “God knows we need it.”
Tide realized something even worse. “With what money?”
The look that Vyncent and William shared told Tide everything he needed to know.
