Summary
“I’ll get straight to the point—what we’re about to discuss is a delicate matter,” Kyōraku says. “Kurotsuchi-taichō has completed development of a procedure to permanently remove inner Hollows. With this procedure, Squad 12 can finally restore those affected by Hollowfication to their original state as pure Shinigami. As per Central 46’s directive, all Visored will be required to undergo this procedure. It’s non-negotiable.”
Ichigo, who became the lieutenant of Squad 13 after his mortal body gave out under the weight of his own power, isn’t having any of Central’s bullshit.

Summary
Ichigo has been in the Squad 4 Infirmary for longer than he’d like, trapped in this bed, waiting for his body to heal for days on end. He tells himself he doesn’t mind the wait.
You know, you could get out of here sooner if you just used your Hollow regeneration.
His breath catches, body going tight with tension before his brain even processes what just happened.
A voice in his head. And not just any.
It’s rougher than he remembers, deeper, but there’s no mistaking who it belongs to.
His inner Hollow.
No—
Zangetsu.

Summary
Zangetsu isn’t there. His presence is gone—ripped away like a door slammed shut in Ichigo’s face. The silence left in its place makes his whole body feel off-balance, like he’s leaning too far forward but never falling.
Zangetsu? His reiatsu reaches inward on instinct.
Nothing.
The sick, twisting feeling in his stomach tightens.
Okay, I get it. You’re pissed. But don’t—don’t just shut me out like this.
Still nothing.

Summary
This is fine. Everything’s fine.
Definitely not having a full-blown sexual awakening in the middle of a spar. About his wielder, of all people.
Except—
Maybe he is.

Summary
“Well, well. Looks like we’re back in business.”
“So it seems,” the Quincy mutters, tone somber. He gives the Hollow a shallow nod that would escape anyone else’s attention.
“Guess your whole ‘protect him from your mess’ plan didn’t work out, huh?”
The Old Man exhales through his nose. Classic. Irritated but pretending to be above it. “Unfortunate,” he says. “But there is nothing to be done.”
“You sure about that?”
There is a reason why Ichigo got stronger after the whole Ginjo debacle.
