Summary
Their tryst of a battle has dragged them to the edge of the bridge, feet skating perilously close to the railing. In reality, Noli’s body should be steeped in quivering exhaustion, but adrenaline compels him unwaveringly back into the fight.
Their synergy is the sweetest of traditions. It’s liquid sun, it’s the first gasp of springtime, it’s the gentle lick of the inferno that they, alone, command the roar of. But it’s also a testament to their sacrifice. Didn’t they bleed to know one another like this? Didn’t it take a cataclysmic schism for them to return to one another with such vigor, such impassioned balance? Didn’t they have to break to be whole again?
(Even if it is just for these few, thieved moments, saturated in a hate so boundless and potent that each strike of their sabers almost, almost feels like love?)

For a moment, Noli is so hopelessly captivated that he forgets to be terrified.
Or: 007n7 is shot, Noli is strange and guilty, and they rediscover what it means to be two parts of one whole in the aftermath.
