Sir, confident he had their undivided attention, continued, “Lemillion and I had a conversation about UA’s winter festival.” Ayumu knew what was coming next, that he had been captured, unable to evade the topic any longer.
“He mentioned how students were encouraged to bring their families,” Sir explained, and Ayumu felt a lump form in his throat. He glanced at Mirio with an almost pleading expression, begging for him to help him escape, his eyes asking why he had told Sir so much about the festival, but Mirio simply shrugged at him.
“He also mentioned it was possible that you didn’t have someone to go with you. Is that right?”
Ayumu sighed, and at last relented, offering a nod, and hanging his head in shame. “Yeah, that’s… that’s right.” He was probably the only kid on campus who didn’t have a single family member he could bring with him.
“I could go with you, if you would like for me to.”
