But today, as Josh starts talking to the witnesses next to him… he doesn't even know. It's like it flips a switch in his brain, one he was previously unaware was even there. Because Josh is– Josh is smart. Lord is he smart. Ted likes to think that he is too, but honestly, watching Josh question pretty much anyone– he just sort of dwarfs everyone else on the committee with no effort whatsoever. Ted thinks he could beat the entire Senate in this regard, frankly.
He's such an attorney, too. Maybe that's part of it. He practically embodies the spirit of a trial lawyer when he's questioning people, which is impressive given that he was a prosecutor for such a short amount of time.
It's attractive, is the point. All of it is attractive. And Ted has always– well, he's always found Hawley pretty hot, that was never really a fact at issue, but– today, for whatever reason, something about how demonstrably, insanely intelligent his colleague is is making his blood rush straight downwards.
