Especially when Max shuffles closer, crowding him even further against the wall. He continues, hasty and frantic, “This is safer than fighting. We don’t get hurt, no one gets in trouble. We blow off steam with each other. Makes sense, yes? Yes?”

Before Charles can begin to formulate a response, Max is ducking in again, kissing him again, and Charles is stunned into stillness.

回家后侮辱地清洗自己使劲搓皮肤，哎，发现Max打了36了个电话，又意识到明天俩人还得坐同一趟航班，哎哎！第一章看完感觉此文已封神，老大什么时候更新啊急死我了… -

Summary
Carlos knows Lando shines- on the track, in every room, without even trying. He tells himself it's just admiration, just friendship, just the closeness of being teammates.
But love creeps in quietly, soft as laughter in the passenger seat and warm as a shoulder leaned on like it belongs. And when he finally realises what it is, it feels like too little, too late- because how do you hold something made of light without putting it out with your icy hands?
A slow-burn about longing, closeness, and the ache of loving someone who was always meant to belong to everyone else but him.
