Arisanna turns the singular golden coin over in her fingers. She had been promised it was enough, it had to be enough. The night grew thick around her, as fog blew in from upriver. Slowly it blocked up even the sky and stars above until they were standing alone on the dock, with only the sound of the rushing river water to ground them. Occasionally the wood would groan and creak under her feet as they redistribute their weight in anticipation.

“Fable is the first lead that I have to figuring out what’s causing the resets- no one else has helped me find anything else out but if I bring Fable here then I can actually maybe prevent the resets from happening.” He tried to keep calm so that he wouldn’t say anything he would later regret, he didn’t know what would happen when the Aether portal was linked to Purgatory and the realm had already fallen. “I’ve lost my home because of what you did with the portal! My mother may be dead and I have no way of finding out if she is!” Rae knew that Arisanna was right in being angry about what he had done but nobody including Fable knew that was going to happen.
