Except for those who also know how meaningless their lives are when pitted against the powers harbored by the Sith and the Jedi. Five such Imperial officers have witnessed the death and torture of their peers at the hands of the Force and wonder if there is a purpose to be served in laying down their lives for an Empire that would not do the same for them, or if maybe the rebels' cause is starting to make more sense.

So me and my friends are avid DND players. Most of the campaigns we have done can best be summed as "improvised shitposting". During one such campaign, we ended up creating "The Unified Territories of Gorbtopia", a technologically advanced empire with territories throughout both the galaxy and the multiverse that is led by a three-foot tall perpetually high gnome and his adopted schizophrenic daughter. The multiversal aspect of Gorbtopia swiftly led into jokes about Gorbtopia randomly appearing in far more serious works and franchises without explanation or context, which in turn led into me writing a stupid fic which may or may not culminate in Darth Vader, Lord of the Sith, getting Judo-flipped by a three-foot tall gnome.
